Welcome!

Welcome to our website, where we share details about our 2009/2010 Leopard 38! She was built in South Africa in late 2009 and first set sail in the BVIs in 2010. After 5 years in charter, she embarked on a new adventure with her new owners, crossing the Panama Canal and sailing up the Baja Peninsula, finally reaching Anacortes in 2018. We began our adventure with her in early 2019. Now, as empty nesters planning to move out of state, it’s been a tough decision, but our loss could be your gain!

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you the owners?

Yes, we are the owners of the vessel.  We have enjoyed the Gail Lee for six years.

Do you offer financing options?

No.  You will need to work with a local company in Washington offering boat financing.  We recommend the Marine Loan team at Peoples Bank.  They have branches in Edmonds, Anacortes, and more.

Could you recommend someone to do a survey?

Yes! We had a great experience with Zachary Simonson-Bond at Kingspoke Marine Surveying.  You can reach Zachary at (360) 202-2125

Where would you haul out for maintenance?

We did all our maintenance work in Bellingham at Seaview's North Yard.  They have the experience and performed well.  check out www.seaviewboatyard.com

Where would you haul out the vessel for an inspection?

The closest spot is right around the corner from the Anacortes Marina.  One company has a sling capable of hauling out the vessel.  Do not haul out with their sealift, the space between the hulls is too narrow. We went down to La Conner.  It's a long story! Note that they are not a Yanmar certified shop, so we opted to take our maintenance business to Seaview instead.

How can we find out more about Anacortes Yacht Charter's owner program?

Since the vessel has been in charter at AYC, it will be far easier for you to continue as is.  More details about the vessel page at Gail Lee - Anacortes Yacht Charters and more details about chartering with AYC from their office at (800) 233-3004 | (360) 293-4555 | info@ayc.com

Would you be open to talking about your experience as owners in a charter program?

Yes.  We would be glad to connect with you to discuss this further.  We've learned a lot over 6 years.
